Welcome to RateMyBitsProf. By accessing or using our website at ratemybitsprof.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Description of Service

RateMyBitsProf is a platform for students of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) to rate and review professors and courses. The platform allows users to share their academic experiences to help fellow students make informed decisions.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use this service. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. User Accounts

  • You may sign in using your Google account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
  • You must not share your account with others or create multiple accounts.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. User Content

By submitting reviews, ratings, or other content, you agree that:

  • Your content is based on your genuine academic experience.
  • You will not post defamatory, abusive, threatening, or discriminatory content.
  • You will not post false or misleading reviews.
  • You grant RateMyBitsProf a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your content on the platform.
  • We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms without notice.

5. Transcript Upload

If you upload academic transcripts:

  • You must only upload your own transcripts.
  • Transcripts are processed to verify course enrollment and are stored securely.
  • You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of uploaded documents.
  • We use automated tools to extract course data and are not liable for processing errors.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Harass, bully, or intimidate any professor, student, or user
  • Post spam, advertisements, or promotional content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform or other users' accounts
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the platform without permission
  • Manipulate ratings through fake reviews or coordinated campaigns

7. Intellectual Property

The RateMyBitsProf name, logo, and website design are our intellectual property. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any reviews or ratings posted by users.

9. Limitation of Liability

RateMyBitsProf and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the service (which is zero for free accounts).

10. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.

These terms shall be governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in India.
